OFFICIAL SONG OF THE 2013 SEASON

And the walls kept tumbling down
In the city that we love
Great clouds roll over the hills
Bringing darkness from above

But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
You've been here before?

to the person who produces an MP3 of Dave O'Brien absolutely losing his shit over David Ortiz's grand slam in tonight's game, so I can listen to it a lot. Also, general dancing in the streets (of Hyannis) shall take place in the comments of this post.

So far I get Pedroia and Buckholz as our All-stars.  If Victorino were healthy, he is a real star that's for sure.  Jacoby is excellent too but his AVE is too lov.  John Lester is pretty solid these days with Tazawa and Uehara consistent, stabilizing forces in the pen, though I wonder how long they can log this much work
.
Then there are some unsung people like Daniel Nava, to some extent Napoli though his AVE and strikeout totals are sub-par.
...and of course, the once beloved David Ortiz who is now in the baseball limbo of suspicion.  I myself like Nava's emergence as a solid player they can rely on.

Righjt now they are playing like two teams:  the major league team and the AAA team.  Farrell is proving to be a hands on manager who is helping the team develop.

"Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia was ready to lend a hand as Yankees catcher Chris Stewart went all-out to catch a foul ball by Shane Victorino."

Red Sox Vs Yankees....Lester and Sabathia.

First pitch coming up!

As my April Fool's Day joke, I posted a Go Yankees thing on my FB page....I'm waiting to see if anyone notices and/or figures it out.

Since when is Toradol a "controversial" painkiller?

A former Boston Red Sox athletic trainer regularly injected players with the powerful and controversial painkiller Toradol for six seasons, former Sox pitcher Curt Schilling and two other sources who independently witnessed the injections told Yahoo! Sports, possibly flouting state laws intended to prohibit trainers from administering such treatments.

Mike Reinold, an athletic trainer and physical therapist for the Red Sox who was fired after last season, used Toradol to treat players, mostly Boston's pitchers, Schilling and three other sources said. Toradol is a legal substance and isn't banned by Major League Baseball. The Massachusetts board of Allied Health Professionals, which regulates trainers in the state, has disciplined multiple trainers in recent years for injecting patients, regardless of the drug administered.

Red Sox's use of Toradol could put ex-trainer at odds with state law, industry guidelines

It's not an opiate or a steroid. It's a strong NSAID a few steps above Motrin or Aleve. And taking it orally gives you a higher risk of gastric upset including bleeding. I know because I've taken it, both in pill form - which made me vomit blood - and thereafter by injection, for migraines and for my back injury. This entire story is ridiculous, for Yahoo and other outlets blowing it up for ~scandal~ and for these state and industry regulations even existing in the first place regarding injection of this specific drug. What the actual fuck, Massachusetts. Incredible mismanagement from all sides.

...[also, did Schill just throw us under the bus there?]

Good to see 33 still around.

Anyone still alive around here?

Thoughts for this season?
